Biography

Betsy Bradford is an artist who lives and works in Oxfordshire, working in a variety of mediums to create realistic, atmospheric portraits of dogs, gundogs, and their owners. In 2005 she graduated with a diploma in architecture from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, affiliated with Glasgow School of Art. Her work is markedly informed by the traditional drawing techniques she acquired during her time there.

Rooted in Britain's long tradition of sporting art, Betsy's portraits often depict dogs and their owners in the field — on shoots, at field trials, and out working. Each piece is a personal one, shaped closely around the individual character of its subject. Her work testifies to the love she has for her subject matter; indeed, she is rarely no more than a foot away from a Labrador. She is available for private commissions.
