Private Commissions

My creative approach is to portray the subject in a way that reflects their individual character. In order for me to make a realistic, yet atmospheric representation I work from high resolution photographs, this enables me to closely study my subject. Before beginning a portrait I have to be certain that the photograph I have in front of me will result in a successful piece of art.

When undertaking a commission I ask the client to send me a selection of their favourite digital photographs. In some cases the photographs, no matter how lovely are not suitable for me to work from, in which case I request that some additional shots are taken.  Before they go away and do this it is often useful for me to show some example photographs and suggest guidelines as to what would be an ideal image for me to work from. The process is both simple and straightforward.

Prices start at £300. The following sizes are approximate so as to give an idea of scale:

Canvas works such as “The Dark Works”are not typically commissioned pieces, but will be for sale as and when they become available. If you would like to commission this type of work the cost would be start at £2.500. These portraits are more involved and time consuming and need staging.

No payment is taken until a photo has been selected for me to work from. I will then provide a time frame for the completion of your artwork and request payment before I commence the work.
